Solving Air Casters are great rigging equipment for moving heavy loads, machinery or just about any load. Packaged in a four-module system, we offer a standard tool called a "RIG SET". A Rig Set consist of four air bearing load modules, Interconnecting lines and a control box to regulate each air bearing station individually to balance out off-set and uneven loads. |

USES: |
As a Rigging Tool Use among your fleet of Rigging equipment. Sometimes referred to as Air Skates, the Air Casters can be used in place of machinery skates or together with them to move machines or loads. The Air Caster can't operate efficiently on porous floors, but do keep floor surfaces in good shape as they minimize the floor loading. Air Bearings can move your heaviest loads omni-directionally and provide an ergonomic means of moving and positioning loads that use to require a lot of physical brunt force to move. Most loads under 20,000 pounds can be easily moved manually without the assistance from conventional material handling equipment.
Retro-Fit existing frames or carts. The Air Bearing Load Module can be set directly upon, or be fastened to the underside of an existing or newly designed load carrying structure. Each Air Caster can be used along with a carts existing wheels or casters, use the wheels to move empty carts and the Air Bearings to move fully loaded carts or vehicles. The Air Bearing System is ideal for use in floating heavy loads into place then de-energizing and resting on 'Landing Pads' for a position set position while work or assembly is performed.
USE IN TURN TABLES Air Bearing use in Turntables is beneficially for several reasons; to reduce the co-efficient of friction during the rotation of the loaded table. In most cases, manual rotation is possible saving cost on powered drive systems. With the short lift of the top plate once the air bearings are energized, the rest position becomes an positive stop holding the table top in place during load and unload transfers or while work or assembly is performed. With the low profile of Air Casters, Turn Tables can be build to much smaller heights than conventional wheel or cam supported tables.
BUILD YOUR OWN AIR PALLET Take our standard Rig Set described above (Air Casters, hoses, and controller) and build them into a framed Pallet. Equip a Push/Pull handle and you now have an ergonomic air pallet that can be interfaced with your loads with very little set-up time to position. Turn Scissor Lift Tables in Mobile Lift Platforms!

All of American Solving's Air Bearing systems are designed to certain capacities and specifications (see above). Similar size units are to be laid out in a triangular or square configuration so as to maintain the center of gravity within its confines. Keep the Air Bearings as far apart as possible in an effort to minimize taller loads from swaying or tipping. Cover at least 60% of the surface of the module to give a firm footing and to prevent tipping of the load.
